Our information security services include designing, building, and optimizing large-scale information systems with special requirements, including:

  • Security measures for monitoring and encryption
  • Technology-agnostic access from computers, smart phones, and more
  • Development of networkable or stand-alone training simulators/emulators
  • Upgrade procedures that don't disrupt existing service
  • Scalable architecture for future expansion
  • Training for technology related to identifying IEDs

Key applications for KTC’s IT security services include:

Cyber Security Services: Testing and defending proprietary network systems for government organizations including military, intelligence groups, and commercial businesses.

SCADA Security: SCADA security is an unique combination of IT Security and Physical Security. Worldwide Military Command and Control System (WWMCCS)

Organizations: U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, Hanscom Field (HAFB)

Timeframe: 1984-1987

The WWMCCS project spanned over three years and involved three different upgrades. The security upgrade added TEMPEST capability at every LAN node and server worldwide. The international telecommunication upgrade added X.400 and X.100 capabilities. The LAN B upgrade changed out low-throughput channel filters and switches for high bandwidth units to enable and test the telecommunication and security upgrades.

Single-Monitor, Multiple-Engine Training Simulator/Emulator

Organization: U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Army, Army Corps of Engineers (ACE)

Timeframe: 2006-2012

In 2006-2007 KTC worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers\' prime vendor Wintara to design and build a flexible, software driven simulator as a virtual trainer for five different gas engine turbines being used in Iraq as part of the US Government\'s infrastructure rebuilding program. The training system was required to emulate and, in absolutely correct timing and actions, simulate any of the turbine\'s operational functions. KTC was also asked to develop a comprehensive training program and to train a group of Iraqis employed by the Ministry of Electricity, who then became trainers themselves. The whole project was completed in record time and within budget.

In 2010-2011 several other countries worked with KTC to develop similar systems for their plants.

In 2012 Iraq began a major push to add generating capacity and asked KTC to once again develop a full suite of simulators/emulators for all their turbine systems and their linked controllers and as well to begin the multi-year development and subsequent fielding of a nationwide SCADA system to link the power plants with Baghdad.

Networking and Internet Search Engines

Organization: U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Office of Science and Technology

Timeframe: 2001-2004

Designed and implemented an Internet-based, high speed bot-enabled search engine for US DOE document and information searching by researchers.

Classified IT System

Organization: U.S. Department of Defense, Strategic Defense Initiative Organization (SDIO)

Timeframe: 1992-1993

Designed, developed, and implemented a classified IT system to link 14 terrestrial nodes (surface and subsea) and exoatmospheric assets with key assets in several states. KTC completed the job under budget and on time, within 13 months, with the cooperative efforts of seven subcontractors including Lockheed, SAIC, and Unisys.

EH-60A Quick Fix Helicopter Program

Organization: U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Army Intelligence Center

Timeframe: 1983-1990

Developed a special helicopter intelligence and countermeasures platform for use in forward areas.
